Dr. Eduardo A. Padlan is a biophysicist and x-ray crystallographer recognized for his outstanding contributions and accomplishments in biophysics, specifically the elucidation of the 3-D structure of hemoglobin and antibodies in relation to their evolution and function. His extensive studies on various aspects of antibody and antibody-antigen structure provided the bases for better understanding of the antibody combining sites and antibody-antigen interactions.
