Dr. Juan M. Pulhin recognizes of his pioneering owrk in the develoment of participatory approaches to climate risk, vulnerability and adaptation, including the integration of science and local knowledge. His work on the science, policy and practice of climate change has been instrumental in enhancing the adatative capacity and cliamate resiliency of local government units in the country. His groundbreaking research in social forestry and forest governance steered policy reforms in Community-Based Forest Management and forest rehabilitation programs in the country
