In recogntion of his pioneering contribution to social science research using data science; in further of the design and successful leadership of the first data science program in the Philippines; and of research results that have advanced evidence-based policy. He has successfully collaborated with experts from other fields to provide informed policy options in addressing critical issues such as the development of smart cities. He and his collaborators have deployed AI and machine learning to successfully tackle such problems as the design of smart transport systems. He has nurtured young minds to work as a team to take advantage of the digital revolution that opens new opportunities for the Philippines' further economic and social transformation.
