In recognition of his significant contributions to research across a broad spectrum of biotechnology, from understanding biological mechanisms of action to translational research needed to commercialize products. He has served as an adjunct/visiting faculty, adviser, research collaborator, industry partner, and mentor to students in public and private institutes in the Philippines. He also assisted in the establishment of the Virology Institute of the Philippines by the Philippine government.
